Australian flag Each symbol on the flag has a special meaning for Australians. • The stars of the Southern Cross representgeographical position in the Southern Hemisphere, • the Commonwealth Star symbolises federation of States and Territories, • the Crosses stand for the principleson which our nation is based - Parliamentary Democracy, Rule of the Law and Freedom of Speech.

  4. National symbols of Australia Kangaroo. There are more than 50 species of kangaroo. The biggest are red kangaroos, grey kangaroos and euros. The biggest kangaroos can grow over 2 metres tall. The females usually weigh about 45 kilos.
