A few statistics •  Population 6.2 million. 60% of people live in towns.  • In 2010, El Salvador ranked twelfth among Latin America in terms of the Human Development Index • Life expectancy 72 years  • Literacy rate 84% • On average, 10 homicides a day, 530 femicides from January to May (2014) • 20% of Salvadorians live outside the country ,US and EU • The textile industry is the largest exporter
