Are you ready to take a week off? Here’s how to efficiently prepare your classroom before your vacation. Start by reaching out via phone, email, or IM a week in advance to discuss any concerns. Ensure all grading is completed by Friday evening, clear your communications, and organize your students’ information. Set your load to zero, update your voicemail, and inform your students about your absence. Trust that your class will be well-managed while you enjoy your time off. Have fun and relax!

How can you prepare for your week-long vacation? • Here are the steps to preparing your classroom: • The week before, get in touch with me via phone, email, or IM, with a filled out passport (file on team website), to discuss any concerns or things we need to address. • Include in your passport email your test passwords, as well as any organization tool or spreadsheet you use to track your students • Leave your class in good order. Try to get out all the red, clear out CI, clear all grading through 8pm on the Friday before your vacation, make list of any special circumstance students (ex. Those who need to be activated, out of town students, etc). Also, please make sure you are updating VSA with all the correct contact info for your students. • Right before you leave, set your load to zero, update your voicemail that you are on vacation, and send out an email notifying your students. I will post a banner on your AP. • Have FUN!Turn your phone and computer off, and know that your class will be in good hands.
