Outline • Introduction • Analysis Approach and Requirements Gathering • System Models and Screen Design • Design Review and Usability Evaluation • Costing Walkthrough • Final Conclusions and Recommendations
Why are we here? • We are here to provide a solution to a design issue for ProFit. • Tonight we will be presenting a prototype solution for an online Personal Training Program.
Project Background • Who • ProFit – Ruth Ellison, Owner • What • Replace current manual system • Improve information capture • Improve reporting capability • Where • The system needs to be accessible online
Project Background • When • Within ProFit’s timeframe • How • Implementation of the proposed solution from Innova
Analysis Approach and Requirements Gathering • Two main steps: • Analysis of the design brief to identify key stakeholders. • Conduct a stakeholder survey to identify additional requirements. • Result: Rich Picture of ProFit
Stakeholder Survey • The aim was to answer the following questions: • How is training session information currently recorded? • What experience do the stakeholders have with computers? • What are the various configuration issues that will need to be considered when developing the system across platforms? • How do the stakeholders prefer to view information? • What types of training information would stakeholders find useful in an electronic system?
Results • Information is recorded manually causing errors or loss • Training information assists with training decisions • Reporting information preference for graphs, tables or summaries. • Most common use of computers for web browsing and web based email
Results • Most common web browser was Internet Explorer, but Firefox is also popular • All respondents comfortable accessing online systems
Stakeholder Concerns • Athletes • Require easy access to training information • Ensure personal information is secure • Coaches • Monitor and update athlete training schedules • View reporting information • Access athlete data
Stakeholder Concerns • Administration Staff • Improved communication • ProFit Manager • Provide a better service • Ensure information is up to date and timely • Generate usage statistics
