  1. Humans v. Zombies What you need to know to survive a zombie apocalypse

  2. Background • Humans v. Zombies (HvZ) was first invented at Goucher University in Baltimore, MD • It was developed as a way to bring people together, in a game that resembled tag with a twist • Based on science fiction, the game simulates a zombie outbreak in which Humans must fight to outlast the zombie horde

  3. Basic Rules • An “original zombie” is selected at random, and no one can identify that person until they claim a victim. • All other players start off human, and can use nerf guns to stun zombies for a set period of time. • If a human player is tagged, he/she must wear a headband and becomes a zombie after one hour. • The game can be adjusted to give different missions to each team with rewards for completing them. • After all zombies are dead, or all humans are lost, the game ends.

  4. The Zombies • Zombies rely on ambushes to claim victims since the opposing team is armed with ranged weapons. • The more zombies are created, the bigger the advantage of using swarm tactics.

  5. The Humans • Safety in groups for defense, but on the move it is best to spread out instead of risking your entire team to an attack. • As the game goes on, the humans become outnumbered, and must use their ingenuity to complete missions

  6. The Guns • Only Nerf (or equivalent) guns are allowed in the game, for obvious reasons. • Types of Nerf guns/usage • N-Strike Maverick ($7.99) • 6 shot revolver, used primarily for close range • Rapid reloading and light weight makes it versatile in any scenario • N-Strike Longshot CS-6 ($29.99) • Sniper rifle equipped with two six-round clips • Ideal support weapon, shoots up to 35 feet accurately • Vulnerable if used alone or against more than one enemy • N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 ($42.99) • Fully automatic tripod-mounted blaster equipped with two 25-round ammo belts • Best defense against an all-out attack, but use caution as it is prone to jams
