  3. Discussion Instructions • Introduce yourself to the other group members and tell them about your personality • As a group, identify the four descriptive terms used most frequently. Send a representative to write them on the board • Discuss at your tables why people might use these terms to define their personality

  31. Defense Mechanisms • Since our id, ego, and superego are constantly in conflict (why?), Freud theorized that defense mechanisms are serve as a way to solve those conflicts.
