Do: Complete the assigned pages in my student journal and my reading from my reading plan. Agenda: Warm up: 5 minutes Introduce task/expectations: 10 minutes Journal/HW work time: 40 minutes

HW/Journal Time • Do you have HW that is due in your class? • Do you have missing assignments? • If yes: • You may work silent on HW at your assigned seat • Ms. Anna and Mr. Carter can come help you with an assignment • If no: • Book club reading/work time All students should be seated in their assigned seats and working quietly

How to set up your supporting paragraphs • An introduction sentence: Marianne’s love for her culture can be seen in her love for pizza. • Evidence: “She loved pizza.” (p. 29) • Context: Marianne describes her love for pizza to her friends and family. • Explanation: Marianne’s love for pizza represents a love for her Italian culture. • This section should be multiple sentences
