  3. Demonstrative Adjectives • This • That • These • Those • They point out (demonstrate) nouns. They always answer the question which one(s)? • All of these words can be used as pronouns. They will not

  4. Common Adjectives • Plain, ordinary, everyday adjectives. • They are not capitalized, unless it is the first word of a sentence.

  5. Proper Adjectives • A Proper Adjectives is made from a proper noun. It is always capitalized. • Proper Noun Proper Adjective • China Chinese • Mars Martian • Ireland Irish

  6. Comparative/Superlative • Use er and est to short adjectives • Short shorter shortest • Happy happier happiest • Little littler littlest • Put more and most in front of longer adjectives. • Beautiful more beautiful most beautiful

  7. Articles • A, An, and The • The is the definite article • A and an are indefinite articles. • Use a in front of a word that has a consonant sound. • Use an in front of a word with a vowel sound.

  8. To find an adjective you need to locate the nouns first. Three happy children played at the park. The donkey stepped on my large hat. The child was brave.
