  1. Lesson 3-4: Multiplying by 10's, 11's, 12's Objective: Find products of factors 10, 11, 12 Math Understanding: Patterns and breaking apart can help you find products with factors of 10, 11, 12. Practice Problems on White Boards

  2. Use Calculators to find the products of the given equations. 33 36 44 48 55 60 50 66 60 72 77 70 84 88 80 96 qq 90 108 100 120 110 110 121 132 120 132 144 -50

  3. 17 × 11 36 × 11 17 x1O=170 17 x 1= 17 36 × 10 = 360 170+17 = 187 396 360 + 36 =

  4. 69 × 11 = = 690 69 × 10 = 69 69 × 1 690+69 = 759

  5. What is the pattern when multiplying by 11? Could you use breaking apart to help when you multiply with larger factors? How might you use breaking apart to solve for products when multiplying by 12? What Patterns do you see when multiplying tens? Add a zero to the factor that is not ten. Break the 12 into 10 and 2 Repeat the number that is not 11 twice to get the product. then add the products together. (for factors less than 10) Multiply the factor that is not 11 by ten then add that factor to the product
