How to Create a Bar Graph: • Decide on a title for your graph • Draw the vertical and horizontal axes. • Label the horizontal axes • Write the names of what you are counting where the bars will be. • Label the vertical axes (the quantity) • Decide on the scale. Explain that you should consider the least and the greatest number shown on the graph. Discuss what range of numbers should be shown on this bar graph. • Draw a bar to show the total for each item.

  6. M&M’s Activity • Open your bag of M&Ms onto the bounty provided. • Group them by color. • Make a tally chart. • Take the information given and make a bar graph on graph paper. ** Do Not Forget To: - make a title & - label each axis **
