  2. What technology was used during the events of World War II? 00 • The 3 main pieces of weaponry used during this time was the tank, the airplane, and the boats/submarines. (Neil 4) • On occasion, some countries used cavalry, usually the Polish. (Neil 5) • These 3 weapons were used in conjunction with one another in a fight. (Israel 4) • In addition, the radio was also used to help give orders and send messages back and forth. (Neil 5)

  3. How had this technology been improved since World War I? • The tanks had simply had more guns attached to the top, and not a whole lot else added. (Israel 6) • They also had a sort of cooling system, because soldiers had died from heat exhaustion from driving the tanks. (Neil 5) • Planes has guns mounted differently so they wouldn’t destroy the propellers or wings. They also had a proper bomb dropping system. (Neil 6) 00

  4. What were the biggest problems with the development of these weapons? 00 • Tanks had originally been based on the design of a Roman War Chariot, but had to be tweaked. The vehicle would have been rendered a sitting duck if the horses were shot, so it had to be self propelled. It also had to be able to go through any terrain. (Neil 4) • Planes weren’t very effective bombers originally. The bombs were initially too heavy for the planes to carry in order to take off and fly straight. So until a roper bomber was made, pilots simply threw bombs by hand. (Neil 5) 00

  5. How useful were these weapons in WWI compared to WWII? • 00 • In World War I, tanks were essential to combat, due to Trench Warfare. The tanks could be used to go into the thick of battle, and cross the middle of No Man’s Land without much trouble. (Neil 4) • U-boats also dominated the ocean in World War I, and became Germany’s saving grace for a long time. Even though they lost. (Israel 1)

  6. How did these changes affect the outcome of World War II? 00 • The development of these weapons very much changed how WWII turned out. Had the plane not developed so well, events like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, while in some people’s minds overkill and unnecessary, did help bring the war to a close, having destroyed acres of land and people. (Isreal 3) • And while not as useful, the tank’s developments lead to a great tactically ability given to the Allies. (Neil 3)
