Early Childhood His full name is 迪宮 Michi no miya (Prince Michi) Born April 29 , 1901, in Aoyamo Palace in Tokyo. He attended boy’s department of Gakushuin from 1908-1914. He succeeded to the throne and a new era Showa (Enlightened Peace) was proclaimed. He was crowned emperor on November 10,1928 in Kyoto.
