  2. Bombing of Pearl Harbor • Pearl Harbor is in Hawaii (a US Territory) • The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor • The United States became involved in WWII after the bombing • Which happened December 7, 1941

  3. Nazis • Nazis killed Jews • The whole World War II was about the Nazis • This led the Americans join the war in Europe

  4. Japan • Japan did not like the fact that the United States stopped selling oil and scrap metal to them. • When Japan attacked the U.S. • America declared war

  5. Lend-Lease Act • The Lend-Lease act was passed stating Roosevelt could direct aid to whomever he wanted. • The US ended up contributing 42 billion dollars to the war effort • FDR saw fit to aid the British and French troops with arms (weapons)

  6. Tripartite Pact • The Tripartite pact was a treaty signed by the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, Japan) and said that if any country declared war on one of the three countries - the other two would immediately declare war on said offender

  7. American Ships • U.S. ships were attacked in the Atlantic when Germans didn't like U.S. supplies being sold to England in support of their efforts to defend Europe while Germany was making its plans to gain control of all of Europe as a first step in control of the world
