  4. Irvin McDowell • Born1818 in Columbus, OH. • His highest rank achieved was a General • Participated in the Second Battle of Bull Run • Died 1885 in San Francisco, CA

  5. James Henry Carleton • Born on December 27, 1814 • Led the California Column through Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas • Was promoted to General • Died on January 7, 1873

  6. Winfield Scott Hancock • Born February 14, 1824 • Was a Major General in the Confederate Army • Died February 9, 1886

  8. Richard Ewell • Born February 18, 1817 • Was a Colonial in the Confederate Army • Lost his Leg in war, but was given a Wood leg • Died January 25, 1872

  9. Robert E. Lee • Born on January 19, 1807 • Served any different positions in Georgia, Texas, Mexico, Virginia, and New York • April 18, 1861 Lee was offered field commander for the U.S. Army • Died October 12, 1870

  10. John C. Breckenridge • Born January 21, 1822 • Reached the rank General August 1862 • Fought alongside General Robert E. Lee • Died May 17, 1875

  11. John B. Gordan • Born February 6, 1832 • Became a Colonel by April 28, 1862 • Was wounded in the head at The Battle of Antietam • Died on January 9, 1904
