  3. Great Leap Forward The Great Leap Forward was Mao’s attempt to modernize China’s economy. The Great Leap Forward was planned to expand agriculture and industry. By 1959 the Great Leap Forward had been a failure. virtual-china.org

  4. Cultural Revolution The Cultural Revolution was Mao’s attempt to re-impose his authority on the communist party and the country. Mao purposely set to create a cult for himself and to remove the Chinese Communist Party of anyone who did not support him.   5. Tiananmen Square In 1989 the Massacre in Tiananmen Square left several hundreds of people shot dead. Tanks rammed through the Capital as the army moved into the square from several directions, firing at unarmed protesters. politicolnews.com

  6. Chinese Economy The Chinese socialist revolution made a vast improvement in the life’s of the Chinese people. The life expectancy in socialist China doubled, from about 32 to 65 years . theleftanchor.com
