Many technical documents are cluttered [亂七八糟地充塞[覆蓋](某地);使(頭腦等)混亂;使凌亂] with redundant or needless phrases that can be either deleted entirely or expressed more simply.
例句 • (Original)The engineer wants to take the opportunity to make an introduction of the novel property. • (Revised)The engineer wants to introduce the novel property.
Another form of redundancy is putting two words together that have the same meaning. • Since "rule" implies something that is "general", the writer can simply say "rule" instead of "general rule".
