Porter commanded 60 ships for the union army • Major general William H.C Whiting commanded 1,900 at the fort • Robert F. Hoke commanded 6,400 troops just north of the fort • Casualties Union- 1,341 dead & wounded • Confederate-583 Dead & wounded • The significance of the battle was the union shut down their port Which mean the confederates surrendered. Used by the union and the confederate army’s • Pistols colt 1851 navy , single action , 6 shots • Colt arm 1860 : union single action , 6 shot • Both of the colts is accurate 75-100 yards • 1850’s army officer’s sword • Ironclad Ships war ships

  12. Transportation • Horse carriages- Mostly wooden with some type of written name or of some sort of name on the side • Steamed boat • Trains- the trains was for transporting some goods. And the train transported people to. • And walking

  13. How did the civil war end • Ended at Appomattox courthouse when General Robert E. Lee & Ulysses Grant signed the surrender agreement. • June 23, 1865

  14. How did the civil war affect the America's future • Although the result from civil war freed over 4 million slaves, the nation seen the battle over racial inequality
