  2. Ch1: Civil War Begin In 1860 Abe Lincoln was elected but didn’t take office until 1861. The civil war began because Abe Lincoln disagreed about having slaves in the south. So the south secede from the United States and formed the Confederate states.

  3. CH2: Confederates Win At Fort Sumter. The Confederates surround Fort Sumter, and take the first win of the many battles in the Civil War in the fall. The Sumter was running out of supplies and if Lincoln did not send help soon they would have to surrender.

  4. CH3:First Battle of Bull Run The Union had little training but wanted to invade the South so the Union marched into Virginia and they started off on the top of things but the Confederates fought strong . Leading them was General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. The confederates scared the Union and the Union went back and Richmond, Virginia was saved.

  5. CH4: Second Battle Of Bull Run The second Battle Of Bull Run, was called by the Confederacy was fought August 28–30, 1862. It was part of the American Civil War. It was the culmination of an offensive campaign waged by Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia against Union Major General John Pope’s Army of Virginia.

  6. Ch5: General Lee Invades The North. In September, General Lee invaded the North for the first time. Confederate leaders believed a victory in the North would damage Union morale. They believed a Confederate victory

  7. CH.7: Slaves Become Soldiers Many slaves rapidly started escaping and became soldiers to fight for their freedom rights. In the Civil War.

  8. Ch6: The Emancipation Proclamation Lincoln announced on January 1, 1863, that all slaves in states that were in war with the Union were now free. Lincoln’s announcement was called the Emancipation Proclamation.

  9. CH.8: African American Soldiers Many African Americans became soldiers in the Civil War. To help fight for the their freedom rights and for slavery to end.
