  1. Essay on Summer Reading To follow a life of success, happiness, and fulfillment will always begin by observing ourselves, from finding inner peace, figuring out your purpose, and pursuing it through hard work with the passion to commit in to our goal that will shape up our life. Without persistence and hard work it is impossible to succeed. A life without direction could lead to a path of uncertainty and without contentment. Also a life without inner peace is a life without true happiness. As for what Guy Montag felt from Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451, having a complete life and a honorable profession as a fireman (burns books), he felt that there is something missing in his life, it is the books that his society wanted to be burned out, he finally found his true purpose, it is to memorize the books he have read to rewrite it in to their future for the good of humanity along with other book people. Learning that we must have a purpose that we need to realize it and achieve it. Our true purpose is to follow what we want to do, not to try to fit in other's mask but to only wear our own; it is to find out our own dream and goals to start our own journey towards success, happiness, and fulfillment in life. Once we figure out what we really want to do, we find ourselves to feel that we are going to the right direction and know that once we get to our destination we will be satisfied in life with clarity. To be contented in life we must discover what we really desired to do, it is also essential to find our happiness. Living the life today has always been difficult as for waking up early in the morning to go to work or school, arguments with a stranger or sibling, or just personal concerns. 2. Book Thief Summer Reading The Book Thief Summer Reading Essay Over the summer of 2014 I read The Book Thief, a novel by Markus Zusak. Prior to reading this book I honestly thought it was just going to be another stereotypical WWII story that just revolves around a hidden Jew and the bland home life of a nervous German family. I was proven wrong by the time I read the first chapter. The Book Thief turned out to be so much more than I imagined it would be. The characters weren't the typical stock characters I had predicted. They had their own personal struggles and lives outside of hiding a Jew. Everything in the book had a story behind it, whether it be Max's accordion or how Liesel came to live with a new family. There were almost no dull moments and I was able to...show more content... From day one, " Rudy was always determined to be Liesel's best friend."(Zusak 48) and that was how it was with Georgie and I. Zusak says " A snowball in the face is surely the perfect beginning to a lasting friendship."(Zusak 48) My friendship with my neighbor also had a "snowball to the face" start. Shortly after moving into his neighborhood, I was walking my dog Chloe but got distracted and dropped the leash, and Chloe took off after a squirrel in Georgie's yard. I was too busy trying to chase her down to watch where I was going and ended up running smack into Georgie who was getting the newspaper from the end of his driveway. We began talking and everything went from there. Both boys also did their share of eccentric acts, like Rudy's Jesse Owens incident where he covered himself in charcoal and ran around the town's track, pretending to be the famous olympic sprinter, Jesse Owens. Coming home one day and finding Georgie and my little sister dressed as wizards pushing each other up and down the street in a wheelbarrow certainly competes with the peculiar acts of Rudy Steiner. 3. What Does Summer Reading Mean Summer Reading Essay Julian is probably the meanest person in the book. He has done many things that makes people think, "Why would anybody do that?" Sometimes, it doesn't make sense to why he is so mean, but maybe him having a view of the story that would give some reason to why he did what he did. Wonder has almost all of the character's points of view in it, besides Julian; if we did have Julian's view, we might learn more about why he bullied August or any new insight on his life that is unknown to the Wonder readers. He still does not need to be looked at as a good guy, but some type of reason he would be so mean, whether it is a good or bad reason, should, in my opinion, be seen. One thing that Julian did bad was ask why his face is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  4. How To Read That Summer Essay The book that I am currently reading is titled, That Summer by Sarah Dessen. While, I am reading I noticed I happen to remember events that happen. That's why I excel in AR tests and get a large amount of points by the end of the year. I also seem to read a lot during my free time besides being on social media. Picking up a book and just reading for a while seems to just relax me and helps me get away from being on the Internet so much. I happen to read for hours at a time, when I do pick up a book. Another thing I can do well is, getting to know my characters. When reading, I connect with the characters on a deeper level. For example, let's say one of the main character's family member dies, I will start tearing up and get emotional. I feel like I have known the characters for a long time just because I am along on the journey with them. It feels like I am physically in the story and going through the things with them. I also happen to know complex vocabulary words through how much I read. I use the words that I have learned from reading and use it in my writing. I don't think there are many...show more content... I want to keep learning new things and keep applying it to different subjects. You can learn a lot just by reading many genres of books. They will help you in your future and your life in general. There are many things reading can teach you and I don't ever want to stop reading after that. My parents can help me reach my goal by buying me tons of books and recommending books they think I might be interested in, so I am further pulled in by the magic of reading. My teachers can also do the same to help me accomplish my goal. They can just push me further into reading with my future in mind. That is the greatest thing I can ask for because I want to succeed and if they push me knowing it will help me greatly in my future, then just what I ask for in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It conflicts Christian beliefs by how they are genetically engineering humans and cloning humans. So basically it is science vs religion. They also took religion away from society and not one normal person in utopia knows about God or religion which is a major conflict to Christian beliefs. They took church away and replaced it with a soma orgy. In some religions they don't like sex for just fun, but for a creating new life. But in this the have sex for fun which is also a conflict. They also say that religion causes wars and violence and that's why sex and soma has made people turn away from God. Soma and sex are like churches that...show more content... A Christian might say that science is always against religion and is true that it is happening slowly. The book also shows that the World State Government has eliminated religion and takes away all religion in there society. This shows what atheists would do if they had as much power as the World State. In the book the World State Government has taken away Churches, Religion, and God. Christian would say that this is slowly happening and that atheists are trying to destroy a whole religion and change the whole world by doing that. The book also shows that sex and soma has changed the world. It made better success than religion. But sex which should be after marriage and soma which are drugs that just make you happy are sin. In the book they say that soma and ogres will make everyone happy and makes them have a better connection with each other. A Christian would say that church has a way better way to make people connect and make people Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  6. Why Summer Reading Is Important Summer Reading Paper Lindsey Willingham Over the summer I read the book the crossover and the book I am Number Four. I think students should be required to read over the summer for the following reasons. First, most kids do not get engaged in educational activities over the summer, which leads to learning loss, and reading over the summer can help that. Next, kids can learn a lot from reading and can learn many new words, and gain knowledge. It also helps improve focus and concentration. Reading is important all the time, but especially over the summer when you're not focused on educational activities. When I first knew we had to do summer reading I thought it was dumb and there was no point. Now that I think about it, there definitely was a point; I was not involved in many educational activities over the summer except for summer reading." Research shows that students typically score lower on standardized tests at the end of summer vacation than they do on the same tests at the end of the school year." If students are not getting involved in activities and learning over the summer they are going to experience learning loss, and it will be much harder at the beginning of the year if were not putting our brains to work. I think summer reading is...show more content... Reading expands your vocabulary and knowledge. When I was reading my book, the Crossover, there were new words and their definition throughout the book. I learned so many new words like, patellar tendinitis which is also known as jumpers' knee, an injury to the tendon connecting your kneecap (patella) to your shinbone. Joseph Addison said "reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body," I think that quote is very true; we need to read in order to keep our minds going. If we don't read during the summer, our vocabulary could shrink, and it is more likely kids will struggle at the beginning of the school Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  7. Summer Reading Analysis How to Encourage Your Students to Read over the summer Encouraging your students to read this summer may not be an easy task to do, since there are plenty of other enjoyable summer activities to do than reading. However, you and your students worked very hard all over the school year to build a better quality of learning. So, rather than just putting their books on the side, the most efficient way to make a summer reading a successful and reality is to make it entertaining. What are those Reading strategies should be used to encourage your students? Listed below are the strategies that you can try to let your students become motivated to read this summer. Struggling readers can remain defiant to reading when they do not totally have to, On the other hand, the best time to establish them to audio books or audio visual read along websites is now. Create a Summer Reading Community This is the best prompter to keep them reading in a way that can help those kids that are shy to remain social even outside of the school. As much as possible, motivate them to meet up over the summer to talk regard to the books on their priority lists. For the older students, have them to put mutually a reading calendar and organize their own book club assemblies. While for the younger students, you can send home contact information regards to various members of the group, so that the parents can gather an Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  8. Summer Reading Project Korissa GozdziakSummer Reading Project Activity #1: "Take 100% responsibility for your life." This principle is all about the fact that no one can change your future but you – it's all in our own hands to decide where we want to go. Excuses and blaming other people won't get you anywhere. On page 14, it says, "You either create or allow everything that happens to you." I'm starting to learn that this is true. Almost everything that happens to me – both positive and negative – happens because of something I did in the past. It's my job to think about what my actions today will cause tomorrow, because no one else can change things in my life except me. "Believe it's possible." 9. Summer Reading Essay There are so many excuses I could've made up explaining why I didn't do the Summer Reading Essay.I know I had more than enough time to finish reading my book and do my essay, but I just didn't put enough effort into it.Honestly the whole "Summer Reading" idea is a bunch of nonsense, but don't get me wrong I get why the school system wants us to read. Two months without classes can dumb down our brains,so reading now and then won't hurt. I was fully aware how impactful this assignment was on my grade, but that did not stop me from procrastinating. If only I put more effort into reading and doing the right thing maybe I would have finished the assignment.I really do care about my grade in this class. This poor example of my behavior has taught me Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  10. Reflective Essay On Summer Reading In my Summer Reading Essay, I see many skills I could improve on and many things that I need to continue in further essays. The first thing I struggled with was MLA format, specifically the heading, and the header. So while writing this essay, I took another try at completing the heading, and header. When rewriting my essay, I will double check to make sure I include the proper format; I can access the format by looking it up on the internet. Another thing I struggled with, was the simple formatting techniques including underlining the title of the novel, and center the title of the paper. I practiced centering the title when writing this reflection piece, and I can score better on my next essay on this formating by remembering to check formating, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  11. Book Review : The Book Thief William Rissing Ms. Hinko CP English 10– P5 13 October 2017 The Book Thief Summer Reading Essay In The Book Thief ,by Markus Zusak, Death explores the world of Liesel Meminger and how she interprets the troubles of her time. In the book Death roams around Germany and is intrigued by Liesel's story. Liesel is a young girl from Germany with a passion of reading books, and she has just moved and is getting used to her new town. Death is a caring character that shows his affection for people, he shows an opinion on the pain of war and killing, and also shows an opinion on the change of children in Germany. Although Death is not the most pleasant name in the book he cares for people, he is never happy to take a body. Whenever Death is taking a soul he tells a story of why he does not enjoy to take souls. Or what he feels when he is taking a soul from it's body "When their fingernails had scratched at the wood and in some cases were nailed into the sheer force of desperation, their spirits came toward me, into my arms, and we climbed out of those shower facilities, onto the roof and up, into eternity's certain breadth." (Zusak 349). This show's Deaths thoughts to the reader. He is able to show what he is feeling as he swoops the souls out of the people's body's. Having Death as the narrator gives you much more knowledge on the other problem happening in Germany other than Liesel and her family hiding a jew. 12. Summer Reading Essay Reflection By Austin Martin I first read a Summer Reading Essay Reflection written by Austin Martin who is a student of Mr. Campbell. When I read Austin's essay, I discover interesting writing style that I overlooked until I read his essay as he wrote this more professionally than my essay. It is just the way he worded his sentence that makes me think that this is good essay. Something in his essay that challenged my writing was how he put specific examples. My teacher said not too much, and yet he did. So he either got low grade for it or Mr. Campbell said it was okay. Another one was his author's notes were not separated into multiple paragraphs or whether he address the topics. This is confusing for me as I can't see if he did address all topics upon a first glance. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  13. Summer Reading Research Paper This summer I had a summer reading problem. I had a list of books that I got before school ended, that I had to choose a book from to read over the summer. I also had to read a book of my choice for a total of 2 books. For the next month and a half I read my usual summer books and totally forgot that the list even existed. One day while I was biking with my neighbor she asked me how I was going on my summer reading project. I only had two weeks to get on of the books and read it. Teachers say that we should read books over the summer so that when we get back to school, teachers can get to teach the important things for the year, but is summer reading a good idea? From a teachers point of view you should read over the summer to improve or maintain your reading level. If you don't read over the summer you could experience learning loss. Lastly the list can encourage you to read different genres of books. This can give variety I what you read so that you don't keep on reading the same kinds of books, but is a list of books the right way to go?...show more content... 14. Summer Reading Rhetorical reading helps the reader understand what is happening in a novel, and how to interpret it. There will be a part one, part two, and a part five explained in this essay by using this tool. The novel used for this is, The Book Thief, it takes place during World War II with an adventure of a little girl named Liesel Meminger and her life through this time in history. She soon learns what it's like to let go of loved ones and how to overcome fear. Liesel starts this journey only at nine and continues until she is an older woman. The next following paragraphs show Liesel's life towards the beginning and middle of the novel. First, the novel starts with part one by using zoom in and using zoom past. The beginning had zoom in, being used numerous times due to the reader getting to know the story and the characters. Zoom past was being used towards the end of the section due to everything being tied together. The author put the chapter together by introducing all of the characters in detail, and having the setting in the book easy to know. It starts with a girl named Liesel who is on a train to go see her new foster parents. Sadly, her younger brother died on this journey and needed to be buried, which is where Liesel obtains her first stolen book. There were many interesting sentences in part one, but the one that stood out the most was this one. The text states, "He was a black rain coat, brown pants, decomposing shoes, and a mouth–and what a mouth it was" Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  15. Summer Reading Analysis Summer Reading Essay Everything that has happened to me, every TV show I have watched, every person that I have met, and every book I have read has molded me into the homosapien I am today. The clothing I wear, the music I listen to, and the people I talk to is heavily influenced by embarrassing mistakes of the past. To put it simply, I like books and movies and I used to love them. The constant page turning and scene watching had shown me extravagant worlds that didn't exist, but I grew to love the people that lived in them. I sometimes loved them more than the people in real life. The connection I had felt to the fictional worlds gave me an almost pathetic sense of joy, but that over joy gave me the chance to grow into myself. Reading has Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  16. Summer Narrative Essay The summer leading into my senior year of high school was complicated as well as interesting. Things happened that I would have never expected. However, it was, all around, a great summer. I wouldn't take any event away if I had the option. My summer included a trip to Virginia Beach with my then boyfriend, getting my first job, and helping my parents with their business. I had never been to Virginia Beach until this trip; I hadn't been to a beach in more than ten years. This trip was a turning point in my relationship with my now ex–boyfriend. We had a decent hour and a half drive to get there. Once we actually made it to the beach is when things started going downhill. We put out our towels as blankets on the sand and started to get into the beach vibe. I went down to the water and started taking in the beauty that is the ocean with the sounds of the birds and chatter of families around me. When we were in the water, I accidentally splashed him in the face with water, and he stormed back to our spot. He wasn't in a good mood for the rest of the day. Later on, when we went to dinner, it took us an hour to get our food. Then on the way home, I was almost driven off of a bridge by a truck. There were smaller events that made the trip not as fun, too. However, if I had the opportunity to erase the trip, I wouldn't because it showed me more about him in those six to seven hours than it did in the three years we were together. We did enjoy each other's company during this trip, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  17. Summer Reading Analysis As I reflect on my summer reading of the book "The Lord of the Flies", I am able to recall a few habits that I experienced. Some were more evident than others to say the least. You see, before I begin reading a book I make predictions on what the book is going to be about by looking at the title and the cover page. In addition, it's important for me to find a quiet place before I begin reading. Furthermore, before I start my reading it is important for me to set goals, so I can accomplish as much of the reading I'm required to complete. Most importantly, I must be able to not only complete the reading assignment, but also have a good comprehension of its context. Moreover, I've realized that during my reading there are other habits that I use, which is to make sure I understand the section I'm reading before I move on to the next part of the book....show more content... The last habit I do while reading is; I take each word written as its full value, and then I translate its text to determine if there is any figurative meaning. The reason I do this is, so that I can have a good comprehension of what the writer of the book is trying to express. When I finish reading a book, I reflect on the author's message and internalize how it made me feel. The reason I have this habit, is, so that I can learn and become knowledgeable in the material I've read. Upon my completion of the summer reading book and essay, I was impressed with my results. The reason I say this is due to how well I understood the context of the author, and how accurate the examples supported its message. Therefore, as I write this reflection, I realize that I have good habits when it comes to reading a book. However, what really helped me understand the book were the annotations that I was required to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  19. Summer Reading Reflection Make Your Home Among Strangers Summer Reading Reflections Reflection Questions: 1. Why does Lizet feel like a fish out of water both at Rawlings and at home in Miami? The consequences of growing up poor in Miami and Lizet's subsequent transition into a Northeastern liberal arts student created two facets of her personality that were unable to mesh together. This was something that she was willing to acknowledge yet unwilling to admit was causing problems both at home and at school. "El" was 'too Cuban' for her white classmates at Rawlings, and "Liz" was 'too white' for her friends and family in Hialeah and Little Havana. The mannerisms that she'd adopted from each group of people was seen as unsuitable to the other, which frequently caused Lizet's inner monologue to feel discomforted and kept her at war with herself. 2. How does Lizet cope with the challenges of being a minority student at Rawlings? For the first semester of her studies at Rawlings, Lizet fails to cope with the challenges properly and finds herself isolated from her peers and failing her classes. The relatively poor work of the administration on the diversity board and their ice cream socials left her feeling like she was without dependable support from the college, although she consciously decided to turn a blind eye to the academic resources available to her for the first few months. Once she finally realized how badly she was struggling and the risk her academic career was put in, Lizet threw herself into improving her grades but continued to allow her social life to struggle. The misunderstandings her peers had of the more Latina aspects of herself ranging from her word choices to what temperature she straightened her hair at created a bridge that Lizet further burned with volatile behavior. 3. What could Lizet do, if anything, to bridge the cultural and generational gaps with her mother? In many ways, Lizet was unable to bridge any kind of gap with her mother because of their severe lack of communication. Lizet's mom envisioned the ideal daughter as being someone like Caridaylis, a young mother (figure) centered around her family with them being her primary concern. The modern, elite college woman was an idea completely foreign to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
