  3. animals In the forest, jungle and hilly places, there are wild pigs, dears, honey bears, tigers, rhinoceroses, elephants, monkeys, squirrels, snakes, parrots, peacocks and crocodiles.

  4. GIBBONS Con-colored gibbons are among the smallest apes. They eat fruit and leaves.

  5. BUFFALOS Native water buffalos are in common in Vietnam and are used by people for farm working and for carrying.

  6. Agriculture of Vietnam

  7. Rice is a staple crop in Vietnam. Rice • Rice is a plant that needs a lot of heat and water.. • Rice is a food that grows in a paddy fields. • These flowers appear and the plants bear rice grain in husks.

  8. Tea • Tea is one of the export crops. • Tea Plants needs to grow in places where it is warm and wet.

  10. Climate in Vietnam The climate in Vietnam is summer, winter, wet, dry, strong winds, heavy rains and dangerous storms.

  11. Summer and Winter in Vietnam The winter in Vietnam is a little cooler, but not as wet. The summer in Vietnam is just a little hotter, but not as dry.

  12. South of Vietnam South The South of Vietnam has a tropical climate is hot. The wet season is from May to November with June to August registering the highest rainfalls.

  13. North of Vietnam North The north of Vietnam is cool and damp winters between the months November and April with temperatures in Hanoi.

  15. Education • Vietnam’s education is divided into 5 level’s • Pre-primary • Primary • Intermediate • Secondary • Higher education • Education is free for ages 5 to 15 ( halong Bay school)

Vietnam is a poor country, there is a shortage of classrooms so there are two sessions • Children attend either in the morning from 7:30am until 11:30am or in the afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. • there is a special school in Hanoi for children who are good at sport. • The literacy rate in Vietnam was high (92% of the population) • The national assembly has passed the law on primary education since the 12th of August 1991.

Mid-Autumn Festival • The Mid-Autumn is held in honour of the moon at late September or at early October, when the moon is the brightest. • In this festival children carry lighted rice paper lanterns (which is a shape of a moon), a star, a rabbit, a dragon or fish hung on bamboo poles. • In the Mid-Autumn Festival Vietnamese people eat cakes called Ban Trung-Thu or moon cakes. They also wear masks and watch water puppet shows.

National Day • The National Day of Vietnam is held on the 2nd of September. • National Day celebrates the day when Vietnam achieved independence from the French and Japanese in 1945. • This day is when they honour Ho Chi Minh (their leader). People dress in national costumes, children parade by carrying balloons and dragon boat races are held.

Ngoc Son Festival • Celebrated in Jade Island in the middle of the lake of the Restored Sword in the old quarter of Hanoi. • Special Meals cooked to offer and honour 3 saints and a hero called Le Loi. • The Special Meals are carried over a bridge called Huc or Sunbeam Bridge. • After a solemn ceremony there is a great feast.

  23. French occupied Vietnam • In 1859 the French occupied parts of southern Vietnam, Hanoi and Hue.

  24. VIETNAM’S WAR • The French were defeated at the battle of Dien Bien Phu. • The first world war was in 1914 to 1918 about 100000 Vietnamese were sent to fight France. • Ngo Dinh Diem rould the South • About 22000 soldiers in the South and 4,000,000 in the North died.

  25. Establishing Vietnam/Nationalist • Vietnam was established in 1887 • Vietnam’s national groups published books and newspapers.

  27. House Boats Sampans are boats that families live in and open in to a market in day .The boat houses have a small area to cover them selves from bad weather

  28. Farming Villages Farming villages houses are usually man made . To build them they use palm leaves wood and clay .

  29. How most Houses are built in Vietnam Most houses are by the community . Most houses are made out of clay ,wood palm leaves ,straw and wood.

  30. Apartments Some apartments are built by the government for students in university to rent out. Many apartments are owned by families and are passed done from generation to generation.

  32. Location The Mekong Delta is located in the southern part of Vietnam, and lies immediately to the west of Ho Chi Minh City. Mekong Delta

Facts • The Mekong Delta is 39,000sqkm (15,000sqmi). • The Mekong Delta is divided into 9 provinces Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang, Vinh Long, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, and Minh Hai. • The majority of Vietnam’s fruits come from the many orchards of the Mekong Delta. • The Mekong Delta is 4,180 long.

  34. History • The Mekong Delta was once part of an ancient Khmer territory.

  37. Bus Bus is a very popular transport in Vietnam. Travelling by bus is very good for tourist’s because you can stop were ever you want to stop, and you can stay at that destination as long as you want.

  38. Motorcycles The Motorbike is on of the popular transports in Vietnam.

  39. Cyclos A Cyclos is a three wheeled bike that is used like taxi. A Cylos is very good to use because you can see lots of different markets and buildings.

  40. Train’s Train’s are a popular type of transport to get to work.

Vinpearl • Vinpearl is a large landmark in Vietnam and has a very expensive hotels. • Vinpearl has a big water park for swimmers to go down tall slides and also take their own children to go down the slides with them. • Vinpearl has a amusement park that has roller coaster, car bumpers and much more. • Vinpearl has a lot of stuff to do at and is on the other side of Nha Trang and can travel by boat.

The Cu Chi tunnel • The Cu Chi tunnel is was use for the war to hide from the enemy and the Vietnamese would also kill the enemy with out letting the enemy see them. • The cu chi tunnel is located in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and is open for people to experience the way the Vietnamese would hide and kill the people.

  44. The Cao Dai Great Divine Temple • The Cao Dai Great Divine Temple is a famous temple that has a popular religion of a symbol of a eyethatrepresent Cao Dai (God). • This temple is located in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and has a huge group of monks.

  45. Halong bay • It is one of the world’s most beautiful natural wonders. • it is host by people who have boats for a a lot of people to fit in. • Halong bay is located in Halong city in Hanoi.

  49. Hanoi • Located in northern Vietnam • Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam • Modern Hanoi has many office blocks, tall building, restaurants and shops • Old Hanoi has narrow streets, with a mix of old buildings as well as new modern buildings
